From temporary to permanent role
With contract-to-permanent you start working for a period of two years at one of our partners - in Finance, Risk, Data or IT - with the intention of joining on a permanent basis thereafter.
Focus, growth and security
Contract-to-permanent suits people who like to make long-term impact and want to develop within one organisation.
Through Solid you work for two years at partner company in the financial sector, telecom or energy. After that period you will be employed by the partner on a permanent basis.
You will follow a development program that matches your seniority, expertise, assignment and personal learning goals. In addition, you can spar with colleagues working in similar roles.
Contract-to-permanent combines the best of both worlds: the security of permanent employment, the opportunities to continue to develop yourself, and the practical experience to make an immediate difference within an organisation.
Are you looking for variety in your assignments? Then secondment probably suits you best. Depending on the partner company, it’s sometimes also possible to start directly in a permanent position.

Frequently asked questions
Is your question not listed?
What is the difference between secondment and contract-to-permanent?
At contract-to-permanent, you work through us for two years for one client (e.g. ING, Eneco, KPN), with the intention of becoming a permanent employee afterwards. From day one you are part of the team and participate directly in the business. With us you follow a development program that matches your seniority and ambition, and you can spar with colleagues in similar roles.
With secondment you work on shorter assignments at different organizations. Then too, you are employed by Solid, receive salary and development guidance, but change environment, team and issue more often. This provides more variety and the opportunity to gain broad experience in a short period of time.
What does my assignment look like?
It very much depends on your background, seniority and where your interests lie. We have assignments within Finance, Risk, Data and IT. Together with the recruiter, we will map out where your interests and strengths lie and find a suitable assignment.
Will I receive guidance or training during my assignment?
Yes, you follow a development program that we tailor to your experience, learning goals and assignment. You decide how much of that you want to utilise - that way you grow at the pace that suits you.
What industries will I end up in?
At Solid you will work on assignments at organisations within the financial, telecom and energy sectors. Think ING, Rabobank, KPN and Eneco.
We also work with organisations outside these sectors, as long as the assignment matches your experience and our way of working. This ensures that each assignment remains challenging and relevant to your growth.
What if there is no match with the partner?
You will be hired specifically for an assignment and meet with the team and your future manager beforehand. That way, you know exactly where you're going to end up before you start.
In the unlikely event that things don't work out, we will look for a solution. We remain involved and ensure that you work in an environment that suits you.
Can I join the organisation directly?
Yes, sometimes that’s possible. It depends on the organisation and the structure they choose. Some companies work with a contract-to-permanent setup, where you start through us and join the company permanently after two years.
The advantage of this route is that you’ll receive a development programme tailored to your experience and goals, plus guidance from a talent manager and access to a network of professionals in similar roles.
With recruitment & selection (permanent placement), you join the company right away. This gives you immediate connection with your new employer, but without the development programme and personal guidance you get through us.
