Frequently asked questions
Is your question not listed?
What is the difference between secondment and contract-to-permanent?
With contract-to-permanent, you work through us with a single client (for example ING, Eneco or KPN), with the clear intention of moving into a permanent position with that organisation. From day one, you are part of the team and contribute directly to the business. During this period, you follow a development programme with us that aligns with your seniority and ambitions, and you exchange insights with professionals in similar roles.
With secondment, you work through us on one specific assignment with an organisation. You are employed by us for the duration of that assignment and receive salary and guidance during that period. Once the assignment ends, the employment contract also comes to an end. Secondment suits professionals who enjoy working on a defined challenge and then consciously choosing their next step.
What does my assignment look like?
It very much depends on your background, seniority and where your interests lie. We have assignments within Finance, Risk, Data and IT. Together with the recruiter, we will map out where your interests and strengths lie and find a suitable assignment.
Will I receive guidance or training during my assignment?
Yes, you follow a development program that we tailor to your experience, learning goals and assignment. You decide how much of that you want to utilise - that way you grow at the pace that suits you.
What industries will I end up in?
At Solid you will work on assignments at organisations within the financial, telecom and energy sectors. Think ING, Rabobank, KPN and Eneco.
We also work with organisations outside these sectors, as long as the assignment matches your experience and our way of working. This ensures that each assignment remains challenging and relevant to your growth.
What if there is no match with the partner?
You will be hired specifically for an assignment and meet with the team and your future manager beforehand. That way, you know exactly where you're going to end up before you start.
In the unlikely event that things don't work out, we will look for a solution. We remain involved and ensure that you work in an environment that suits you.
Can I join the organisation directly?
Sometimes, yes. This depends on the client and the type of arrangement they choose. Some organisations work with contract-to-permanent, where you start with us with the intention of moving into a permanent role with the client over time.
The advantage of this setup is that you follow a development programme with us that aligns with your seniority and learning goals, supported by guidance from a talent manager and access to a network of professionals in similar roles.
With a recruitment & selection arrangement, you join the client directly from day one. This creates immediate alignment with the organisation, without the development programme and personal guidance you would receive through us.
