Become a DevOps engineer
Many financial organisations are in the middle of a digital transformation. This has significant consequences for the way they operate. Companies are switching to the cloud, legacy systems are being replaced or updated, and technology is developing at an incredibly fast pace. As a DevOps Engineer, your role is hugely important. After all, you are responsible for keeping the IT systems secure and up and running. Meanwhile, you are also heavily involved in the process of developing software (development) and making it operational by testing it (operations).
Skills that you’ll use:
- You program in Python (or sometimes Ruby, Groovy, JavaScript and GoLang).
- You work Agile in multidisciplinary teams.
- You will use a CI/CD pipeline.
You are:
- Eager to learn and driven to maximise your potential.
- Familiar with the common programming languages.
- (Nearly) in possession of a college or university degree, for example, in Software Engineering.
- Residing in the Netherlands.

- A gross salary of minimum €3,629.53 per month based on 40 hours (including vacation allowance and a 13th month pay).

Your future as a DevOps engineer
As a DevOps engineer trainee, you immediately start working at a leading bank or insurance company. Such as ING, Tikkie and Nationale Nederlanden. Which organisation will depend on your field of study, skills, wishes, and ambitions. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, working on a wide range of projects. After one or two years, your traineeship will end. The goal is that by that time, you’ll get employed permanently.
