Junior Software Developer
Are you curious about software development and eager to learn how applications and platforms used by thousands of users are built? As a junior software developer, you start in a role where you work directly within a development team and develop yourself in a professional, Agile environment.
This is what you will do
As a junior software developer, you work within IT and development teams at large organisations, for example in the financial sector, energy or telecom. This is an example role. The exact responsibilities vary per organisation and assignment, but are always focused on developing, improving and maintaining software within an Agile context.
Depending on your assignment, you will:
- develop and adapt software functionalities within existing applications
- contribute to building new features based on user stories and requirements
- write, test and maintain code, for example in Java, C#, Python or JavaScript
- participate in code reviews and help improve code quality
- support testing, releasing and deploying software to production
- collaborate with developers, testers, business analysts and product owners
- contribute to resolving incidents and improving existing solutions
You work in sprints, participate in stand-ups, refinements and retrospectives, and learn how software development is organised within large organisations.
Together, we determine which specific environment and type of organisation best matches your background and development.
What we ask
- a completed master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Informatics, Technical Computer Science or a similar field
- 0 to 2 years of experience in software development through internships, thesis projects or personal projects
- basic knowledge of at least one programming language and the motivation to deepen your skills
- affinity with Agile working and developing software in a team environment
- an analytical mindset and a strong willingness to learn
- you live in the Netherlands and are available full time
