Junior Data Engineer
Are you interested in building data platforms and learning how to make data reliable and accessible for analytics and reporting? As a junior data engineer, you work in Agile data teams on pipelines, data quality and cloud-based data platforms within large organisations.
This is what you will do
As a junior data engineer, you work within data platform or analytics engineering teams at large organisations, for example in the financial sector, energy or telecom. This is an example role. The exact responsibilities vary per organisation and assignment, but the core remains the same: making data available in a secure, scalable and reliable way for business use.
Depending on your assignment, you will:
- build and maintain data pipelines, for example using Azure Data Factory and Databricks
- transform and model data for analytics and reporting purposes
- set up data quality checks, validations and monitoring
- work with SQL and, where applicable, Python or PySpark for data processing
- contribute to CI/CD, deployments and documentation within a DevOps approach
- align with stakeholders on requirements, definitions and data deliveries
- support incident resolution and root cause analyses related to data issues
Together, we determine which specific environment and type of organisation best matches your background and development.
What we ask
- a completed master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, Econometrics or a similar field
- 0 to 2 years of experience in data engineering, for example through internships, thesis projects or a first role
- basic knowledge of SQL and data modelling, with interest in cloud environments
- experience or interest in Azure, Databricks and Python or PySpark
- a structured way of working and interest in building solutions within Agile teams
- you live in the Netherlands and are available full time
