Junior Accountant

As a junior accountant, you start in a role where you are directly involved in day-to-day operations and develop yourself within a professional environment. You build a solid foundation for a career in accounting, reporting or financial control.
This is what you will do
As a junior accountant, you work within finance teams at large organisations, for example in the financial sector, energy or telecom. This is an example role. The exact responsibilities vary per organisation and assignment, but always align with your role and development stage.
Depending on your assignment, you will be involved in:
- processing and checking financial transactions
- supporting month-end, quarter-end and year-end closings
- reviewing, analysing and substantiating general ledger accounts
- performing reconciliations and identifying discrepancies
- preparing balance sheet specifications and basic financial reports
- providing information for internal and external audits
- contributing to improvements in financial processes and administrative procedures

What we ask
- a completed master’s degree in Finance & Control, Finance, Accounting, Business Economics, Economics or Business Administration
- 0 to 2 years of experience, for example through internships, working student roles or a first position in finance or accounting
- strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- interest in financial administration and closing processes
- proficiency in Excel and interest in financial systems
- you live in the Netherlands and are available full time
Benefits
As a junior accountant, you start via Solid Professionals in a contract-to-hire setup. This means that during the first period you are employed by Solid Professionals and immediately start working at one client organisation, for example ING, Eneco or KPN. At the same time, you follow our Impact Programme, focused on your professional and personal development.
The intention is that after completing the Impact Programme, you transition into a permanent position with the client. From day one, you are a full member of the team and actively involved in the business.
You can expect:
- a gross monthly salary starting from 3800 euros based on 36 hours, including holiday allowance and a monthly project allowance, depending on the client, aligned with the employment benefits you would receive when directly employed by the client
- at least 22.5 vacation days based on 36 hours
- hybrid working and travel allowance for office days
- guidance from a performance manager who supports you throughout the programme and focuses on your development
