AI Specialist Model Validatie
For an international bank, we are looking for an AI Specialist who will play a key role in the further adoption of GenAI within model validation. You will work within a second line Risk team responsible for the validation and monitoring of credit risk models.
The organisation has launched its own AI initiative as part of a broader credit risk model lifecycle programme. The focus is on making validation and monitoring processes smarter and more efficient using Vertex AI, Gemini and additional tooling within Google Cloud Platform.
You will join a highly specialised team of model validators with strong expertise in credit risk and model validation, but limited practical experience with GenAI tooling. Your role is to bring that practical AI knowledge into the organisation and help the team turn AI solutions into working applications.

What you will be doing
You will join a specialised Model Validation team responsible for the validation of credit risk models. The team consists of more than 60 professionals and operates within a highly structured and content-driven environment.
The team is currently running an ambitious AI initiative aimed at improving the efficiency and effectiveness of validation and monitoring processes. You will play a central role in this initiative.
You will work closely with validators who are highly experienced in credit risk models but have limited hands-on experience with AI tooling. You will help the team understand how Vertex AI and Gemini work in practice, where the opportunities are, and how these tools can be effectively applied within the validation process.
Your responsibilities include:
- Acting as the hands-on lead for the AI initiative within the model validation team
- Working with Google Cloud Platform, including Vertex AI and Gemini
- Guiding validators in the practical use of GenAI within their daily work
- Demonstrating both the possibilities and limitations of the technology
- Developing and testing AI-driven solutions for validation and monitoring processes in an iterative way
- Keeping the team engaged when experiments do not immediately succeed
- Working within a broader programme covering data, model development, and validation & monitoring
- Exploring future applications related to AI model validation itself
- Collaborating with stakeholders from Analytics and other validation teams
This role is not only about technology, but also about ownership and perseverance. Many applications will not work immediately. You are someone who can bring structure, energy and momentum to that process.
Environment
You will work within a Model Validation team that is part of the second line within Risk. The team is responsible for the validation and monitoring stream within a broader credit risk model lifecycle programme.
The organisation is investing heavily in AI and analytics. Because smaller use cases within Model Validation do not always receive priority from central Analytics teams, the decision was made to establish a dedicated AI initiative within the team itself.

What you bring
Deep expertise in credit risk or model validation is not required for this role. That knowledge is already well represented within the team.
What is important:
- Completed university degree
- At least one year of proven hands-on experience with Vertex AI and Gemini
- Practical experience within Google Cloud Platform
- Experience building, testing or implementing GenAI solutions
- Ability to explain AI tooling clearly to domain specialists
- Pragmatic and iterative working style
- Energy and enthusiasm for experimentation and guiding people through change
Nice to have:
- Experience with Neo4j
- Experience with Dataplex
- Knowledge of knowledge graphs

You can expect:
- A gross all-in monthly salary between €3,266 and €3,700 based on a 36-hour work week
- At least 22.5 vacation days based on a 36-hour work week
