Traineeship vs consultancy
Have you recently graduated and want to get started at a large corporate? Then you are in the right place! You can choose for our 2-year traineeship or for the 3-year consultancy program. Wondering what the similarities and differences are, so you know which track suits you best! We explain it to you.
Traineeship program
You will immediately start working with our two-year traineeship. During this period you will focus on your personal development, acquire new hard and soft skills, build a network and receive intensive coaching from your own talent manager. We have positions in Finance, Risk, Data and IT. Curious about the benefits? We have listed them for you below!
Consultancy program
You will start working at large multinational companies where you will have the opportunity to network and create new opportunities for your career. You will be part of the team at the client as well as part of your consultant colleagues with us!
The differences:
- The traineeship lasts two years. 🆚 The consultancy program lasts three years. The 1st two years you follow a fixed training program and in year three you will specialize.
- During the traineeship you will work in one department at one client. 🆚 As a consultant you will work on temporary assignments. The assignments last 6 to 9 months on average.
- After the traineeship you will be employed by the client, such as ABN AMRO, ING or APG. 🆚 After the consultancy program you will start working as a senior consultant at one of our labels RiskSphere or Firm C.
- During the traineeship you will work full-time at the client 🆚 As a consultant you will regularly come back to our office in Utrecht with your consultancy team.

Training Program
Whatever track you choose, everyone takes the same courses with us in the 1st year. Our program ensures that you quickly develop your substantive knowledge, but also your personal leadership and networking skills. In addition, we pay attention to finding the right work-life balance.
Personal leadership 🌟
Within the program you will participate in various group training sessions that will give you insight into your qualities and blind spots. You will discover what energizes you and how you can apply this to your work. This will give you clarity about your ambitions and how you can give shape to them. You will be inspired and challenged by interesting guest speakers, interactive exercises and training through movement.
Networking 🤝
Networking helps in your career and in your personal life. You will end up at a (corporate) startup or at a large multinational, but always in the financial sector. And one thing is for sure, you are going to meet a lot of people! To make sure you meet fellow trainees, other consultants and alumni to share experiences, we organize regular events. This way networking is not only useful, but also fun!
Good work-life balance ⚖️
Our generation is constantly dealing with stress and fatigue. According to a CBS study from 2022, almost half of gen Z'ers say they feel burned out due to high work pressure. We help you by being intentional about work happiness, stress, health and thus finding the right work-life balance.
Personal training budget
In addition to the regular training program, you will receive an annual training budget to develop your hard skills. Together with your talent manager and manager, you decide how to use this budget. Your ambitions are central to this. It is important that you choose training that fits the position and environment where you work. In other words, you have the training courses match the knowledge, technical skills and tools that you need in your position, but do not yet possess.
Trainings you can take include: CFA, VBA, Access, Power BI, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and project management trainings.
1-on-1 coaching
During the traineeship or consultancy program, you will be guided by your own talent manager or a performance manager. Thanks to this personal attention, you will learn a lot about your qualities and how best to use your talent. But also what your blind spots are and how to deal with pitfalls. Every month you speak to each other 1-on-1 and look at your development in your hard and soft skills. In addition, you talk about "How do you ensure a good work-life balance?" or "How do you make sure you are up-and-running as quickly as possible?
After your trajectory
After your traineeship, you will join the client where you are already working. You will then not only have built up professional knowledge, but will also know what drives you and where your strengths lie. Will you start in our 3-year consultancy program? Then you will work on a variety of assignments and develop into an all-round consultant. Then you can move on to a consultancy label or to managing consultant. So you choose the route that suits you.
