This is what you will do

As a junior credit risk expert, you’ll help build models that determine how much risk banks take when issuing credit. These models play a key role in major decisions - from pricing and credit approval to stress testing and climate risk. You’ll be hands-on with the content: analysing data, contributing to model structure and challenging underlying assumptions.

Right from the start, you’ll get the opportunity to take ownership of parts of the development process. You'll learn how banks make data-driven decisions and how your insights support financial stability and strategic direction.

Your exact tasks will depend on your role and the organisation you work for. But you can expect projects like:

  • Performing data quality analyses for risk models and advising on improvements.
  • Using programming languages like Python, SQL or SAS to structure and analyse datasets.
  • Contributing to the structure, validation and documentation of credit risk models.
  • Designing creative solutions for complex risks – including models that account for climate impact.
  • Translating technical analyses into clear insights for stakeholders such as risk managers or regulators.
