Junior Software Engineer
Are you passionate about tech and eager to build innovative software that makes a real impact? As a junior software engineer, you’ll lay a solid foundation for your career as a back-end, front-end or fullstack developer. You’ll work with the latest technologies and gain experience at companies like ABN AMRO, Rabobank and a.s.r. 🤝
This is what you'll do
As a junior software engineer, you'll be part of an agile scrum team, working on the development and optimisation of web applications. You’ll work on both front-end and back-end development and get the chance to dive into cloud technologies, CI/CD pipelines, and test automation. What you’ll be doing depends on your role and the organisation you’ll be working for – here are some examples of what you might work on:
- Building web applications: You’ll develop modern, user-friendly web applications using Java, JavaScript, .NET, C# or SQL. You make sure the software is reliable, handles data securely, and is easy to scale as the organisation grows or new features are needed.
- Working with cloud technologies: You’ll learn how to host applications in Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms. You'll also explore Infrastructure as Code (IaC), a way to manage IT infrastructure like servers and databases through automated code.
- Debugging and testing: You’ll identify software issues by analysing errors and log files. You’ll also help set up systematic testing to ensure new releases go live smoothly, without unexpected issues.
- Collaborating in multidisciplinary teams: You’ll work with business analysts, product owners and other developers to ensure the software meets user needs. This means you won’t just write code – you'll also learn how technical solutions contribute to business goals.
- Working within CI/CD processes: You’ll support and improve CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps. CI/CD (Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment) ensures software is automatically tested and prepared for release. This helps new features become available to users quickly and without disruptions.
Your skills
- You have (or are close to finishing) a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Cyber Security & Cloud.
- You have basic knowledge of, or interest in .NET, C#, SQL and Azure.
- You have an analytical mindset and enjoy solving problems.
- You’re a strong communicator and enjoy working with different stakeholders.
- You’re eager to learn and want to grow in a dynamic environment.
- Currently based in the Netherlands and available full-time.
