Junior Quantitative Model Validator
Are you good with numbers and curious to discover how financial models really work? Would you rather critically assess models than build them yourself? As a junior quantitative model validator, you’ll be the independent voice that puts models to the test, identifies risks and provides recommendations for improvement. From day one, you’ll be part of teams at organisations such as ING, de Volksbank or Tikkie. Through our traineeship, you'll grow both professionally and personally in a hands-on role.
This is what you will do
As a quantitative model validator, you’ll dive into the world of financial models. You’ll assess whether models are reliable and comply with internal standards and external regulations. This means analysing model risks, suggesting improvements and working closely with model developers, risk teams and supervisors. You’ll learn how banks manage model governance and contribute to stronger decision-making and risk control. Your exact tasks will depend on your role and the organisation you work for. These are some examples of what you might be doing:
- Validating financial models: reviewing model logic, structure and compliance with internal and external requirements - including models for credit risk, market value and customer behaviour.
- Analysing model risks: identifying model vulnerabilities and assessing their potential impact on the organisation.
- Reporting and advising: drafting validation reports and clearly presenting your findings and recommendations to both technical experts and stakeholders.
- Working in multidisciplinary teams: collaborating with data scientists, risk managers and business analysts to improve model quality and application.
