Junior Financial Controller

What you’ll do
As a junior financial controller, you'll immediately start working at one of our clients – think ABN AMRO, ING or NN – while following our traineeship. You’ll support the business control team and contribute to the development and improvement of management reporting, financial analysis and controlling processes. You’ll join a dynamic work environment where you can continuously grow and develop. Working in an agile way, you’ll collaborate to continuously improve processes and products.
Your responsibilities:
✅ Analyse and prepare financial reports: You’ll collect and organise financial data, carry out analyses and compile reports. You’ll provide conclusions and recommendations to support informed financial decision-making.
✅ Support business control and financial control: You’ll work closely with controllers and internal stakeholders to optimise management information and ensure the quality of financial processes.
✅ Work with financial data and tools: You’ll help structure and analyse large volumes of financial data. Where applicable, you’ll use tools such as Power BI to make data more accessible and insightful.
✅ Collaborate with internal stakeholders: You’ll engage with various departments such as business controlling, financial accounting and IT to ensure financial data is processed accurately and used for strategic decision-making.
The exact content of your role depends on the department and team you join, but the focus is always on financial control, data analysis and reporting.
Your skills
- You have (or are about to complete) an HBO or university degree in Finance & Control, Finance, Accountancy, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
- You have strong analytical skills and a good head for numbers.
- You’re proactive, critical and enjoy collaborating.
- You remain calm under pressure and meet deadlines with ease.
- Knowledge of banking regulations and IFRS? Nice to have, but not a must!
- You enjoy working with data and tools like Power BI.
- Currently based in the Netherlands and available full-time.

The traineeship
Our two-year traineeship means you’ll get started straight away as a financial controller at companies such as ABN AMRO, ICS or Athora. During the traineeship, you’ll combine hands-on work with personal development: you’ll follow an extensive training programme to build both hard and soft skills. The programme supports your transition from studying to working, with a strong focus on your personal growth and building a valuable network.
In addition to day-to-day guidance on the job, you’ll receive ongoing support from your talent manager. Together, you’ll reflect on your progress, work-life balance and career path.
